Systems and Data Analyst for Scheduling and Faculty Services - University Registrar

The Systems and Data Analyst independently manages the course evaluation system, data and process - to include CoursEval software system upgrades and maintenance, daily administration, and high level process analysis and design, as well as for communications to constituent groups outside the Registrar's Office, and collaboration with external offices regarding course evaluations and scheduling issues. The Analyst's timely and accurate completion of duties regarding the evaluations and schedule processes is integral to maintaining the excellent reputation of the University and the Office of the University Registrar, and to contributing to student success by readying the schedule of classes for timely registration. Reporting to the Associate University Registrar, the Systems and Data Analyst has duties that include but are not limited to:

Writes and distributes reports on course evaluation and schedule data using COGNOS.

  • Participates significantly in the creation of the schedule of classes and subsequent management of schedule and course data and reports, using Banner, COGNOS and CourseLeaf software.
  • Assists with the scheduling of ad hoc classroom reservations using Ad Astra and EMS software.  
  • Manages, participates in, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the course and faculty evaluation processes for the Main Campus. 
  • Maintains direct contact with internal colleagues (within the Registrar's Office and UIS) and constituents groups (for example, faculty, departmental personnel, students, deans, and Main Campus Executive Faculty), as well as external clients (for example, prospective students, parents, alumni, vendors, and investigators).
  • Works closely alongside colleagues in the scheduling unit of the Registrar's office to support the Associate Registrars and Registrar.
  • Processes course evaluations - to include resolving any systems issues -  in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provides excellent customer service and support for CoursEval users and proficiently assists in the schedule of classes and ad hoc scheduling processes


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of administrative experience - preference for experience with CoursEval, Banner, Ad Astra and/or CourseLeaf, and in an academic setting, and/or experience with systems utilized in the position, or similar online computer systems
  • Preference for ability to learn new computer systems and software quickly and with an in-depth understanding of system functionality
  • Ability to train others in the use of computer systems
  • Preference for working knowledge of general computer programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to navigate and generate content for web pages
  • Self-motivated  with attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills, and multitasking and time management skills
