Working on the Fiber to the Home Project in Salt Lake City, the Field (HUT) Construction Manager will manage and direct the activities of multiple functional areas of construction associated with construction of Fiber Hut construction and build-out of all LCP legs across the network "footprint" for the assigned Hut design.

Employees at this level are typically responsible for fiber build out servicing 20,000 households with responsibility of leading all aspects of quality and schedule attainment, material requirements and ordering, as well as production status reporting.

1. Manages, directly and through subordinate supervisors, the activities of workers engaged in multiple construction functional areas.
2. Provides overall administrative and technical direction, enforces company and project policies, serves as main client interface, and insures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
3. Coordinates construction scheduling and communication and acts as a liaison to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, progress and delays.
4. Assures quality of task products and services, including participating in reviews, audits and site visits.
5. Reviews work orders, product specifications, technical instructions and facility requirements.
6. Assigns tasks to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
7. Maintains all necessary documentation related to assigned tasks and projects.
8. Participates in special projects as required.
9. Responsible for daily production reporting, progress tracking and safety reporting

Education Bachelors Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related construction experience, including supervisory experience.

 

If the activities/responsibilities of this position require the incumbent to use a personal, rented, leased, or a company owned vehicle to drive on behalf of GDIT, the candidate's driving record will be reviewed and will be used in assessing suitability for placement.
