The successful candidate will serve as Subject Matter Expert on software design; implementation; and integration efforts and independently perform software development tasks as part of a development team.

The candidate will work with IT and DevOps team members in determining and testing functional requirements for end users. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical training; or work/military experience. Qualifications ? 5-8 years related software development experience primarily focused on Java and Javascript

? Experience with AWS; EC2 or similar cloud services platforms

? Experience developing software using the Agile/Scrum methodology

? Experience with SOAP and RESTful web service implementation and distributed computing standards

? Experience evaluating and implementing new and state-of-the-art technology to address challenging customer problems in a research environment

? Ability to work well with a collaborative team and contribute to application development vision

? Strong oral and written communication skills


? Ability to work within aggressive timelines and in a team environment

? Willingness to learn and grow

? Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite

? Experience with modern web client technologies (HTML5)

? Experience working with software build tools(maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)

? Ability to identify; analyze; coordinate; and resolve environment and infrastructure needs to ensure a smooth running application

? Ability to work with code repositories and perform configuration management duties

? Ability to create and utilize Chef tools to automate deployment of virtual infrastructure

Position is in Herndon and requires a TS/SCI with Poly.
