Senior Network Administrator - NETOPS Tools
Daily functions of this position involve support, maintenance, management, and hardening of various Network monitoring and management systems and platforms to include BMC's Network Automation, Netscout, CA Spectrum, CA eHealth, Cisco ACS, RSA, Palo Alto's Panorama, and Tivoli's Netcool. 1. Analyzes data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. 2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. 3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements. 4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. 5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users. 6. May perform network administration duties. 7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 8. Participates in special projects as required. 2RCC Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Contractual requirements: Requires High School degree + 12 years similar experience OR an Associate's degree + 10 years related experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and 8 years related experience. Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design. Contractual requirements: Depending on degree obtained (please see education requirements) at least 8+ years of related experience Familiarity with both Windows 2012R2 and Red Hat are integral to daily operations, as well as basic familiarity with network traffic flow and device configurations for Juniper Netscreen, and Cisco, routers switches and firewalls. A good command of regular expressions would be beneficial as it is integral to the Netcool, and BMCNA policies. Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with users and office staff.Ability to obtain and maintain Secret/SSBI-level security clearanceWilling to work overtime; holidays; and weekends as necessarySecurity+ CE (or higher) required to start.CCNA certification within 5 months of start date.CEH certification within 60 days of start date.
