Manage and ensure the ticket and change request queues are properly addressed in a timely manner.

Serve as Point of Contact for Backup team
Provides guidance and direction to lower-level System Administrators.
Lead Backup infrastructure improvements and initiatives and ensure the team is complying with standard procedure and protocols
Ensures service cell follows best practices for backup application(s)
Ensures compliance with patching standards for the backup infrastructure
Perform QA for procedural documentation throughout the lifecycle of backup systems
Plans, schedules and performs proactive maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades and patch installation on backup systems.
Performs backup environment system tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance, correcting major deviations to ensure standards.
Optimizes the backup infrastructure by utilizing analytics tools, e.g. NetBackup Advance reporting, OpsCenter Analytics, etc.
Perform maintenance for backup infrastructure to include storage pools and Data Domain backup shares.
Ensures regular reporting of performance and service levels of backup infrastructure systems to management
Remains up-to-date with the latest network computer systems, operating systems, innovations and industry best practices.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications 5-8 years of related systems engineering experience.
In-depth knowledge of Windows server application and storage hardware
Firm knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles
3 years of experience on backup software such as Avamar, Veritas NetBackup, or CommVault.
High level of problem determination and analysis skills
Experience with technical project execution
