Serves as a team member for virtualization and administration tasks of servers for over 25K geographically dispersed customers. Candidate is responsible for local day to day activities of 2nd/3rd tier server operations in support of the environment including: new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability and performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the resolution of system issues. The ideal candidate quickly understands the architecture and design of complex technology solutions and works with teams around technical problems and issues while resolving incidents via Remedy on a daily basis. Candidate performs on-call duties. The ideal candidate has over 8 years of server administration experience

Ensures complaince with patching standards for HP Blades servers, security and system patches on Windows servers and all ESXi hosts.
 
Performs Quality Assurance for procedural documentation througout the lifecycle of the system.
 
Serves as escalation point for technical support in regards to issues within the virtual environment.
 
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
 
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
 
May program in an administrative language.
 
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
 
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members
 
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
 
Participates in special projects as required.
 

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

3-5 years of deploying and maintaining VMware ESXi environments/host and guest builds.
