Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

 1. Provides expert level analysis of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

 2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

 3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

 4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

 5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

 6. May perform network administration duties.

 7. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities.

 8. Serves as technical team or task leader.

 9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 10. Participates in special projects as required.

 

 

Job Description:

 

The client's New Campus East (NCE) Active IT Program was established to provide the infrastructure services required to build out and maintain the NCE facilities. O&S Transport Support Engineers' expertise is needed to support a complex network environment.

 

The Network Engineering responsibilities will include:

* Working Tier 2/ Tier 3 Network related Remedy tickets

* Work with internal and external customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture and technical solutions.

* Assist in the development of the NCE Network Transport Architecture

* Develop detailed logical designs in areas of:

- Gigabit Ethernet Switching/Routing (OSPF & BGPv4)

- IPv4 & IPv6 (will migrate to IPv6 over life of contract) 

- Multicast architecture -Routing Table Virtualization (VRFs) 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 10-15 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

 

Unique/Additional Requirements:

 

Required Skills:

 

- CCNP or JNCIS Required - 8+ years of Network Integration Experience

- Demonstrated experience with Layer 2, 3 and 4 networking - Advanced knowledge and experience with OSPF and BGP routing protocols

- Advanced knowledge of multicast protocols / architecture

- Experience with IPv4

- Experience with Juniper Network and Security products

- Juniper Qfabric and MX knowledge

- Understanding of Junos operating systems

  - Juniper MPLS

 

Desired Skills:

 

- Familiarity with F5 Load Balancing and Access Policy

- Ability to design and deploy Juniper MPLS/VPN and VRF network cores

- Monitor, Troubleshoot and maintain the implemented transport solutions

- JNCIS Enterprise Certification preferred - MCSE, knowledge of AD design - IPTV - Remedy - VMware, familiar with VDI deployment - Multicast Expertise (IPTv) - VoIP Experience (VoIP) - Familiarity with CIDRLs
