This position serves as the technical lead for GDIT’s team (ASP.NET developers, database administrators, and software engineers) which is an integral part to providing new functionality and enhancements to a web-based application that supports training management for the U.S. Army.  Current focus is to stand-up a new Content Management System (CMS) to support the Army Training Network (ATN) using a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) ASP.NET product (Kentico CMS).  Position works closely with GDIT Task Order Manager, team, and Government stakeholders in research, design, development and/or modifications to enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.  Technical Lead will be expected to provide assistance to GDIT team in addressing identified issues to successful resolutions. Position is also expected to communicate with Kentico support staff as required

  1. Designs, develops, codes, tests, and debugs complex new software products, or makes significant enhancements to existing software.
  2. Researches and integrates design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities.
  3. Resolves complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
  4. Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
  5. Researches emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.
  6. Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  7. Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
  8. Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  9. Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.
  10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software engineers.
  11. May serve as a technical team or task leader.
  12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  13. Participates in special projects as required.
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related software development experience to include:

  • Configuration management for software and database development utilizing Visual Studio and TFS build processes
  • Software systems with development experience in ASP.NET and C#
  • Managing multiple sites throughout the development cycle
  • Database analysis, specifically MS SQL Server 2008
  • Testing software web systems

  • Security+
  • Microsoft CE Certification
Additional Skills Desired:

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to communicate with various team members at all phases of SDLC such as developers, testers, project managers, support staff and Government stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paces and dynamic environment while being highly motivated and resourceful.
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working with infrastructure teams in support of networking servers and storage.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex challenges independently and collaboratively with team members.
Working knowledge of Cold Fusion software is desired
