Network Engineer at Ft. Meade; MD. This position will be a Principal technical advisor providing Tier 3 support for enterprise IP networks and will present technical briefings to Government representatives and DOD customers supporting the DoDIN Boundary Defense Sustainment and Evolution Engineering Services (DBD-SEES). Previous experience in support of large data centers or hands-on experience with network support of data center migrations is preferred. The person must be experienced in enterprise network design; particularly the deployment and use of appliances; firewalls and web proxies. Project Management and Risk Analysis capabilities are also beneficial.

    1. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

  2. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

  3. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

  4. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

  5. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  6. Participates in special projects as required.

   Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering; or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.

Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.

    DoD Secret Security+ required CCNP/JNCIA is a plus. Previous experience in a DoD customer environment is beneficial. 2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and engineering Experience with WANs and LANs including routers; switches; firewalls; IDS; web cache Equipment; proxy servers; VPN equipment; BGP; router access lists; firewall rule sets; servers and other enterprise network equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint; Project and Visio
