Job Description / Responsibilities: The Linux/Oracle Database Administrator will work with collaborative teams to ensure client and Oracle database technologies are functioning as efficiently as possible. This position will be responsible for daily administration of production Oracle 11g and 12c databases as well as installation and configuration of both standalone and Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) databases, backup and recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and NetApp Snapshot, and Oracle database replication using Oracle Data Guard. Also responsible for patching, upgrade, database trouble shooting and supporting development effort with regard to production deployment releases, database schema, role, user, and objects, database hardening and baseline per security policy to improve database security.

    Install, configure and update database hardware and software.
    Operate and maintain all integrated systems to support mission operations.Perform daily application updates and maintenance functions.Respond to Tier 3 and Tier 4 trouble tickets.Open trouble tickets and respond to trouble calls.Respond to management system alerts.Deploy monthly security patches and updates.Respond to after-hours trouble calls.
 Additional Responsibilities

Support annual FISMA and NIST security requirements.Participate as a member of a small, multi-disciplinary team that works cooperatively to ensure supported applications are available to support the customer mission.Learn other team responsibilities/technologies to enable acting as backup/augmentation as required. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of technological systems and programming, and the ability to further integrate and deploy new technology.

The person qualified for this position has previously installed, operated and maintained Oracle 11g and 12c databases that are hosted on Linux operating system environments.Experience working on a modern virtualized network is required.Experience working in a classified environment is required 

2-5 years of related systems engineering experience.
