Senior Material Acquisition Specialist
General Dynamics IT has an opening for a Senior Material Acquisition Specialist in New Orleans, LA. Successful candidate must be able to pass a government background investigation. Candidates must be a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90 day absence. Seeking a motivated and energetic IT Material Acquisition Specialist to join our superb team of Information Technology experts. We want a dedicated individual who wants to learn and expand their acquisition and government procurement expertise. The Acquisition Specialist will assist Government personnel with pre-solicitation activities for IT hardware and software material requirements while complying with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and BSEE acquisition policies. • Develop acquisition scheduling methodology to include identifying tasks, estimating durations, and scheduling constraints and assumptions for each of the varying procurement methods. • Prepare acquisition documents to include SOWs, Justifications and Approvals (J&A), acquisition plans, market research, cost estimates, analysis of alternatives, and other requested documentation.• Develop and maintain master acquisition tracking spreadsheet.• Integrate tracking and report system with budget system database when possible.• Provide acquisition advice and guidance to COR and other Government personnel as required. • Track contractor use of Government property and support the resolution of property related issues. Required Skills:• Familiarity with GSA eLibrary, GSA Advantage, and Federal Supply Schedules.• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation• Intermediate Level Microsoft Office skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.• Writes and updates procurement documentation such as market research and acquisition plans. Desired Skills: • Experience working in the Information Technology and Software Development industry.• Experience working in the Federal Acquisition System.• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Team Foundation Server (TFS). • Strong interpersonal presentation and communication skills. Education Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Qualifications 7-8 years of related acquisition management experience for a government contractor, or related Federal experience.
