General Dynamics IT has an opening for a Software Quality Analyst/Tester in New Orleans; LA.

 Successful candidate must be able to pass a government background investigation. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years. Seeking a motivated and energetic Software Quality Analyst to join our superb team of software developers/testers. We want a dedicated individual who wants to learn and expand their software and testing expertise.

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The Software Tester is responsible for planning and executing System Integration Test across major and minor releases. They will create test scripts to validate application functionality if it meets the agreed upon requirements. The candidate will apply knowledge of technologies; applications; methodologies; processes and tools to support the project.

    Job Description:

 
  •  Proficiency designing; developing and executing effective manual testing strategies under Agile/Scrum to meet all project constraints
  •  Design and development of reusable and maintainable automated QA regression test scripts (Silk Test; Selenium).
  •  Perform functional testing according to the test plan and maintain test data
  •  Develop; update and maintain quality testing standards and procedures
  •  Assist in the planning; creation and control of the test environment(s).
  •  Work with application development teams and business users to develop and validate test requirements
  •  Capable of working with the customer and developers to identify the test scenarios based upon the User Requirement and Technical Requirement documents
  •  Determine and meet time estimates and schedules for testing efforts
Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical training; or work/military experience.

Qualifications 2-5 years of related software designing and implementing software tests and utilizing automated software testing tools. Must have Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) experience.

 Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with different types of testing (system integration; regression; functional; etc.) and an ability to plan/execute accordingly
  • Ability to develop test conditions and expected results based on the application requirements 
  • Knowledge of the fundamental concepts; practices; and procedures used in computer programming. 
  • Experience with Java and Java Script. 
  • Knowledge of software testing processes and procedures. 
  • Ability to detect; report; track and explain defects effectively. 
  • Ability to write clear; concise and effective correspondence; test plans; procedures and scenarios in accordance with policies. Desired Skills: 
  • Experience with test procedure development; maintenance; and execution. 
  • Experience in the development of Java Web applications. 
  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment. 
  • Knowledge using automated test tools. 
  • Strong interpersonal presentation and communication skills. Position requires a government background investigation.
 

Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of the US for the previous 3 years with no longer than a 90 day absence.
