Information Security EngineerTS/SCIFt. Huachuca, AZ The Information Security Engineer supports DCGS-A Integration and performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of DCGS-A information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. General responsibilities include: 1. Performs Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization, coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents. 2. Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation. 3. Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information. 4. Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk. 5. Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems. 6. Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls. 7. Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices. 8. Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance. 9. Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results. 10. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technical staff members. 11. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 12. Participates in special projects as required. Specifically the DCGS-A Integration Information Security Engineer: 1. Provides support and advice on IA issues/concerns in all phases of development throughout the software life cycle. 2. Coordinates with developers to implement Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) changes that apply to the DCGS-A Family of Systems. 3. Researches and analyzes DoD and DA policies to mitigate problems that may impact ACAS implementation. 4. Develops ACAS sustainment support documentation. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience. Qualifications 5-8 years of related experience in data security administration. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree and 5 years experience in IA. 12 years experience with 7 years concentrated in IA may be substituted for degree. 2. At a minimum must be DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certified...ie...Security+ CE or SSCP and technical computer environment certification or training to start. IAT Level 3 preferred. 3. Active TS/SCI clearance. 4. At least 5 years applicable experience in Information Assurance. 5. At least 2 years of experience installing, configuring, administering, and operating ACAS in a DoD environment. 6. Must be knowledgeable with STIGs and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) policies. 7. Solid understanding of Microsoft, Linux, and Unix Operating Systems. 8. Knowledge and experience working with Firewalls. 9. Knowledge and experience working with IDPS. Preferred Qualifications: 1. DoD IASAE Level 2 (CISSP, CASP, CLSSP). 2. Demonstrated skills with: SQL/XSQL Server Administrator, IP Data Networking and Vulnerability Assessment product engineering and design, ACAS Security Center 4.X, Nessus 5.x or greater. 3. Familiarity with RMF program. 4. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and results-focused mindset are highly desirable. 5. Military experience desired. Completion of U.S military NCO or Senior NCO Academy Course or Officer Basic or Advanced Course is preferred.
