Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks. 1. The successful candidates will have a basic knowledge and understanding of shipboard, shore base and industrial work practices on military bases and facilites. Candidates must be experienced in use basic hand tools and must also be able to perform tasking under direct supervision. 2. May perform simple repairs on machinery or minor repairs to buildings. 3. Transports materials, tools, and equipment to and within work sites as required. 4. Participates in special projects as required. Education Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Qualifications 1. Requires 0-1 year experience. Experienced and familiar with general ship board work and safety requirements preferred and ship yard experience a plus. 2. Must be able to obtain Rapid Gate badge for access to multiple Naval installations or facilities 3. Must be able to obtain access to Huntington Ingalls Industries (Newport News Shipbuilding).
