Under minimal supervision, the Network Administrator - Associate provides support to all Command and Control Mission Systems (C2MS), their associated software, hardware, configurations, and architectures as a part of the Specialized Automated Mission Suite (SAMS). Maintain, and troubleshoot Airborne Mission Network systems. Coordinate with other agencies on configuration of disparate aircraft data system into the Airborne Mission Network Systems. Designs, installs and maintains the network system for multiple classifications and coordinates their use. Maintains and reviews system and security logs. Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for simple and complex networks. Monitor network performance. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Implements network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces security policies. Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes and sets standards. Works with other network professionals as directed to coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues and communicate changes.
- Experience and knowledge that demonstrates competency with network design, operational support, hands-on implementation, configuration and trouble-shooting of multiple networking platforms and hardware devices is requiredCISCO WAN experience requiredAruba WAN experience desiredExperience with various encryption devices such as VPN's, TACLANES, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, and other boundary devices is requiredExperience with COMSEC fill devices is requiredKnowledge of VoIP protocols H323/SCCP/RTP/QoS/SRST/MGC/SIP desirableExperience working in a tactical environment, alongside military or DoD personnel, is highly desirableFamiliarity with mission systems and suites such as TBMCS, GCCS, TACLAN, C2PC, and others is a plusFamiliarity with SATCOM and radio platforms requiredGood communications skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow throughMay be required to provide clear and effective direction to less experienced staffMust be able to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve problemsDetail-oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessmentsMust closely follow network protocols and methodologyMay review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modificationsRequires good working knowledge of network administration and information systemsAbility to troubleshoot a variety of business software applications Able to distinguish between hardware problems, software problems or user errorBasic business communication skillsCan effectively deliver trainingAble to evaluate network performance and interact with users to solve simple and moderately complex problemsDetail oriented and organized; able to understand network evaluation criteria and be exact in assessments Must closely follow network protocols and methodology
