Results-driven professional provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.

 1. Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.

 2. Installs and configures network hardware and software.

 3. Provides network troubleshooting and support.

 4. Provides technical support and training to end-users.

 5. Administers network security.

 6. Backs up file server data/disks.

 7. Provides complex server maintenance.

 8. Sets up new users and deletes old users from the network.

 9. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.

 10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 11. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 3-5 years of directly related experience supporting network operations.


This position works closely with Government staff in the installation of mission systems and networks. This position requires familiarity with a variety of IT technologies to include switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, cabling and related network hardware and software.


1. Ensures technical specifications are followed during the installation of systems and networks.


2. Installs network cabling as required to include fiber termination.


3. Performs testing to verify the functionality of newly installed systems and networks.


4. Assists in the creation and updating of system and network documentation.

A minimum of a current DoD 8570.1 IAT level 2 certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE in addition to a technical certification in a relevant application/OS/networking environment.

ITIL Foundation certification required within 6 months of hire.


Active TS/SCI clearance required.
