The Network Engineer is responsible for the design and development and implementation of data, voice, and/or video communications networks as part of a Project Execution Team. The candidate will work with project managers and customers to determine technical requirements and see those requirements through to completion.


1. Responsible for the network design and determining the level of effort associated with the development of data, voice, and/or video, and/or communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. 2. Documents solutions in Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) and other various documents. 3. Submits proposed designs to Engineering Review Board and responds to questions. 4. Schedules authorized outages to implement proposed solutions. 5. May work odd hours to minimize customer impact. 6. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. 7. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements. 8. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. 9. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users. 10. May perform network administration duties. 11. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel. 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 13. Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


Certifications: DOD 8570.1-M IAT-II, CCNA

 Unique/Additional Requirements Desired Skills: Netcool and Tivoli Monitoring skills Remedy experience ITIL V3 Foundation

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.
