Intern, Global Environment Facility Project Agency Communications
Conservation International (CI) was accredited as a GEF (Global Environment Facility) Project Agency in November 2013. As a GEF Agency, CI directly works with national governments around the world to identify and design projects and advise on project execution, making sure that projects meet high technical and financial standards, while complying with the GEF’s environmental and social safeguards. The purpose of this internship is to support the CI-GEF team in the implementation of their communication strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design materials to support CI-led projects, including factsheets, reports, and marketing materials
Liaise with Communications Department to update and maintain CI-GEF external website
Assist in the development of “marketing” messaging for the CI-GEF Agency
Share internal updates on the CI-GEF Project Agency
Edit and format reports
Write impact/success stories
Maintain CI-GEF Agency Intranet page, and update electronic manual for Executing Agencies
This position is based at HQ in Arlington, VA
Normal office working conditions
Attention to detail and the ability to operate independently to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints.
High school or secondary education and 2+ years of experience
Good judgement, the willingness to take initiative and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to effectively track and coordinate multiple projects.
Solid computer skills including Microsoft office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Extensive writing and editing experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of design software.
Degree in journalism, communications.
