Requirements

Staff Counsel (Corporate/Transactional) - Office of General Counsel

The Staff Counsel (Corporate/Transactional) assists in the provision of legal services to the University community and focuses on a full range of transactional/contract, international, fundraising, research, technology and intellectual property matters. Duties include but are not limited to:

Research and Advising Assists senior attorneys in the office in research and advising on transactional, international, fundraising, research, technology and intellectual property matters.

Contract Review Assists the senior attorneys in the office in general contract review.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate
  • D.C. bar membership (or immediate eligibility for membership)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Broad experience in general corporate and transactional matters is required, and familiarity with laws relevant to research, technology, intellectual property, international matters, securities offerings and higher education is preferred

This is a 1-year term position, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
