This position serves as a Landscape Architect.

THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT.  The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.  This announcement is open to accept resumes from candidates interested in helping the Department of the Navy meet our mission requirements for the acquisition of systems, equipment and facilities.

This is a public notice announcement; under this recruitment procedure, each location/installation, identified in this public notice will make selections for vacancies as they occur. These positions are being filled under Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for acquisition positions located at Department of Navy installations identified in this public notice. Positions may be filled as permanent with a full-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location.

    Basic Requirements for Landscape Architecture (0807 series):

    You must have a Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited college or university in landscape architecture or landscape design.

    OR
    You must have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience. For each year short of graduation, you must have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education.  This experience must have included original landscape design.

    In addition to the applicable Basic Requirements above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications to qualify for the GS-11:

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.  Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    1) Utilizing knowledge of Landscape Architecture regulations and codes to assist with resolving policy and program issues; 2) Interpreting preliminary design drawings and data from site visits into plans and designs; and 3) Using computer software to produce drafts and drawings for designs.  NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.
    OR
    You must have at least 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree; or you have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. This education was in a field directly related to the position in which you are applying.  NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COMPLETE COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS OR AN ITEMIZED LIST OF COLLEGE COURSES WHICH INCLUDES EQUIVALENT INFORMATION FROM THE TRANSCRIPT (i.e. school name, course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned).
    OR
    You have a combination of experience as described above and education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement.  NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COMPLETE COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS OR AN ITEMIZED LIST OF COLLEGE COURSES WHICH INCLUDES EQUIVALENT INFORMATION FROM THE TRANSCRIPT (i.e. school name, course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) AND THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

    1) Utilizing knowledge of Landscape Architecture regulations and codes to resolve policy and program issues; 2) Interpreting preliminary design drawings and data from site visits into plans and designs; 3) Producing instructions, scope of work documentation, specifications, reports, and correspondence; and 4) Using computer software to produce drafts and drawings for designs.  NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

    In addition to the applicable Basic Requirements above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications to qualify for the GS-13:

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.  Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    1) Utilizing knowledge of Landscape Architecture regulations and codes to resolve policy and program issues; 2) Resolving engineering problems and developing facility plans and objectives to include criteria, procedures, and instructions; 3) Interpreting preliminary design drawings and data from site visits into plans and designs; 4) Producing instructions, scope of work documentation, specifications, reports, and correspondence; 5) Inspecting completed construction projects to ensure architectural components are built and installed in compliance with contract provisions, specifications, and approved drawings; 6) Evaluating and advising on designs, cost estimates, and associated documentation presented by other engineers and architects within and outside the organization; and 7) Using computer software to produce drafts and drawings for designs.   NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.
