Health Education Coordinator
The Health Education Coordinator provides leadership in the community by planning, developing, implementing/supervising, and evaluating community health education programs. This position responds to the needs of the community and of the Adventist HealthCare entities and sets goals that reflect the mission and values of the organization. This coordinator displays actions and attitude that contribute to the core values of the organization (i.e., Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship).
Primary duties are planning, developing, implementing/supervising, and evaluating community health education programs. These programs may be related to parent education, tobacco cessation, chronic disease prevention and management (e.g., diabetes, cardiac, cancer), youth health, safety (e.g., CPR, first aid), and/or outreach. This position has no direct reports.
Bachelor's Degree in Health Education or related field.
One to three years of experience in the field of health education or related experience.
Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine use.
Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine). Those testing positive for cotinine are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
