Nurse Manager - Acute Inpatient Rehab
ADVENTIST HEALTHCARE PHYSICAL HEALTH & REHABILITATION is seeking a Nurse Manager for our 32-bed rehab hospital located on the 5th floor of Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, a hospital within a hospital. The Nurse Manager is a Masters level Registered Nurse (MSN) with 24 hour / 7 day accountability for the overall supervision of all Registered Nurses and other healthcare providers in the inpatient rehabilitation area. He/she is typically responsible for the recruitment and retention, performance review, and professional development: involved in the budget formulation and quality outcomes; and helps to plan for, organize and lead the delivery of nursing care for a designated patient care area. He/she is responsible for leading and managing the clinical and operational aspects of patient care in accordance with Hospital Policy, the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards of Care, Association of Rehabilitation Nursing Standards, and unit/departmental standards.
The qualified candidate:
Coordinates clinical contract services and monitors for quality outcomes.
Demonstrates leadership and contributes to providing safe patient care with outcomes that meet or exceed the designated standards of care for a rehabilitation patient at PH&R. Supports the Magnet Model for Excellence and provides leadership in the journey to Magnet Excellence.
Manages the budget on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis to meet plan.
Recruits and retains staff in accordance with hospital policies, needs and guidelines. This will include both positive and constructive feedback to the associates of PH&R, including promotion or termination of an employee.
Monitors the quality of professional nursing practice for patient care in a rehabilitation setting and in accordance ARN, ANA, CARF and TJC standards.
Upholds the RISES standards with self, staff and stakeholders
Serves as Liaison between PH&R and the AHC entities, the communities served by PH&R and professional organizations on a regional, state and national level.
The qualified candidate will possess:
Licensed and currently registered to practice in the State of Maryland as a Registered Nurse.
Masters Degree required
Current BLS CPR competency
3-5 years of rehabilitation nursing experience
1-3 years of demonstrated progressive management experience in nursing and nursing rehabilitation preferred.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build relationships across a variety of disciplines
