AdvertisementGENERAL SUMMARY The Advanced Sonographer for Ob/Gyn in the Perinatology department obtains ultrasound images of the pregnant patient as part of the detailed fetal anatomic survey, first trimester and nuchal translucency screening, biophysical profile, and other Obstetric and Gynecologic imaging modalities according to physicians' specifications. Serves as Preceptor for new staff and rotating sonography students, residents, and fellows. The unit follows AIUM guidelines for screening and unit maintenance. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Associate's degree or one to three years formal training in an AMA approved ultrasound training program is required. Meets criteria of Professional Practices, Clinical Practices, Leadership, and Quality Improvement as stated by Career Ladder Standard Advanced Standard. Presently holds Career Ladder position of Clinical Sonographer I or equivalent. RVT Certification preferred. PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Approximately three to four years of job related experience. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION/LICENSURE : At least two relevant registrations (including OB sonography) are required. MSJA
