  • Must possess current Virginia Master Electrician License or appropriate certification

  • Minimum of 1 year teaching experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of electrical wiring

  • Knowledge of the Virginia Electrical Code

  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required

  • Must successfully pass a background check


 


 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Teaching basic skills in the following areas of concentration: Homeowners Electrical Instructor. Instructors will be required to develop syllabi, goals and objectives for effective instruction, integrate contextual teaching and learning into daily instruction.  Candidates should have the following characteristics:



  • Self-confident

  • Team player

  • Patient with students who  may have been out of school for some time

  • Comfortable dealing with English Language Learners

  • Academically confident in basic language

  • Familiar with educational technologies 

  • Performs related duties as required or assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Plan and implement appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate kind and level of materials, provide appropriate learning experiences, manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement

  • Manage the behavior of learners in an instructional setting to ensure that the environment is conducive to the learning process, and assist and participate in management of student behavior in other parts of the school, center, school grounds, or work site
