Mid Level GIS Analyst
Dewberry is currently seeking a Mid level Geospatial Analyst in our Fairfax, VA office. Typical responsibilities are to work on the GIS/IT and Remote Sensing related projects for our federal clients with a strong focus in NGA related geospatial data.
- Data extraction/compilation, interpretation of multiple sensor input data (stereo and monoscopic);Create a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;Create and disseminate production workflow documents;Create and manipulate databases;Elevation, Feature, and other specific data Processing and Manipulation;Task Management;Problem resolution;Report writing;Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple sensor platforms;Training, Quality control and providing feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field. 3 +years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field. Focused on producing and managing NGA related geospatial data, to include Stereo Airfield Collection extraction and QA/QC.Required experience in multi-sensor processing, manipulation, and production. In-depth knowledge of ESRI’s and Socet Set software, including ArcGIS 10.X and GXP.Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).Strong verbal, organizational and written communication skills.NGA standard product production, specifically experience in extracting Airfields and their derivative products.Experience in mentoring, training junior GIS analysts.Terrascan, GeoCue experience a plus.PLTS tool kit experience a plus.Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.Working knowledge of LiDAR classification and DEM creation.
