  • 3–5+ years’ work experience or equivalent, preferably in the food, nutrition or agriculture
  • Familiarity with public policy topics relevant to food, nutrition and agriculture, preferably including experience working and communicating with government officials
  • Proficiency and experience in creating content across Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Strong writing capabilities from policy briefings and strategic communication plans to social media posts and web content
  • Familiarity with the blogging ecosystem and functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, journalism , communications  or social media

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor regulations and policies of interest to clients. Provide written summaries of policy developments.
  • Execute communication and social media strategy across all major platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media channels)
  • Develop social media campaigns and manage day-to-day activities for clients. Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of campaigns and report on performance
  • Identify and publish relevant, original web content. Implement an editorial strategy to manage content and plan specific, timely digital marketing campaigns
  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies as directed
  • Lead the effort to monitor trends and buzz related to client issues as directed. Develop ideas for social media and web content related to these trends
  • Play an advisory role on client engagements, serving as a communication and digital strategy advisor to both internal team members and clients.  Provide methodological support, coaching, professional development and training to staff and clients as needed
  • Work with the leaders of the internal client team, to help demonstrate the value of communication strategies, social media and digital marketing services to clients – identify and define client needs and potential solutions
  • Present social media analytics, methodologies and plans to internal team members, clients and third parties
  • Research client issues and assist with other projects as needed

Key Qualifications:

  • Social media savvy with documented immersion on all major social media platforms
  • Strong  knowledge of all digital channels and how they can work together
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • High degree of professionalism, quick decision-making and good judgment
  • Team player with the confidence to also work independently
  • Ability to work independently in a small office environment
