Great opportunity for someone with their masters in social work or counseling, as there are supervision hours included with this position.
Provide telephonic support to the needs assessment department by triaging telephone calls, scheduling intake appointments and providing resources to callers.
Facilitate hospital to hospital transfers and obtain pre-authorizations.
Respond to telephone inquiries for requests for Behavioral Health information.
Triage phone incoming phone calls to appropriate clinical resource.
Schedule clinical evaluations.
Document when the appointments are either kept or missed in the appointment book.
Facilitate hospital to hospital transfers by reviewing clinical/demographic information and making decisions based on criteria and benefits.
Obtain pre-authorization for patients being admitted to a program.
Establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
Assist management in training activities and special projects as assigned.
Performs clerical and administrative assignments to support the department.
Complete a minimum of 10 contact hours of continuing education in a behavioral health related subject.
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related human service field.
Two years experience in a Behavioral Health setting preferable.
Knowledgeable in behavioral health and medical terminology.
Computer skills including Word, Excel and Group Wise.
Ability to use office equipment including, copier, fax and phones.
Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to behavioral health.
Overnight position as needed. This position may need coverage weekdays as well. Opportunities for growth within the department and potential for full time.
