The Food Service worker works patient tray line assembling prepared foods on trays for general and therapeutic diets.


-Works trayline positions as assigned cross-trains in all areas.

-Works in dish room and/or pots area; is responsible for sanitation and record keeping (dish machine log, sanitation log)

-Performs side work duties which include: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, record keeping (T+T, sanitizer log), and removing trash.

-Responsible for HACCP.

-Assists with assembling late trays as needed.

-Attends in services and training to obtain knowledge of diets/menus.



-High school or GED

-Food Handlers Certification helpful

-1-2 Years hospital food service experience helpful

-Strong customer service skills

-Able to handle a multi task environment


In order to complete your application for the food service worker position at Shady Grove Medical Center, you must take the our pre- employment screening. The screening is composed of a short registration, a section of personality questions, and a section involving math and reading. There is no need to study or prepare for the screening in advance. The screening should take approximately half an hour, so be sure to set aside time accordingly. You will receive a link to complete your assessment following your application submission.

Work Schedule

FT Days 6A-4P/9A-5P including every other weekend
