Coordinates the units nursing staff.

Attends treatment planning rounds to provide nursing support to formulation of treatment plan; attends daily meetings to communicate and monitor appropriate care and discharge planning within the parameters of the patient's insurance benefits or other financial resources.

Participates in the hospital performance improvement activities.

Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance managements, and employee relations functions.

Maintaines effective communication with all units and departments.

Maintains designated lines of authority.

functions within the policies and philosophies of the organization.

Performs and supervises direct patient care as required.

works within budgetary constraints to include staffing, use of overtime, and use of supplies and equipment.

Participates in activities that enhance professional goals and development.

Qualifications

Must have a working knowledge of acute in-patient psychiatry, all age groups.

Proficient with admission processes, patient flow.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work with all disciplines and be comfortable as the representative for the facility.

Have a good working knowledge of Joiont Commission and CMS requirements.

Associates required, Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.

At least five years of nursing experience in psychiatric nursing.

Supervisory experience required.

Valid CPR card required.

Maryland RN license required, BSN preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a part time position . Evening shift - 3 pm - 11 pm. Weekends required.
