Manassas Park City Schools serves the City of Manassas Park, a 2.6 square mile independent jurisdiction located approximately 30 miles southwest of Washington, DC. We serve 3,100 students at our four schools – a prek-2 and grades 3-5 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. We may be small in size, we are BIG on providing innovative learning experiences for our diverse community of learners. We currently are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide the delivery of human resource services to a staff of 400. The HR Generalist will be a key member of the HR Team, providing benefits administration services, supporting recruitment and selection, and  advising managers and staff on policies and procedures. -  Must have minimum of three years of progressively responsible human resources administration experience;   Bachelors degree preferred,
-  Knowledge of personnel practices, policies, regulations, and laws related to human resources,
-  Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records, operate standard office equipment, and utilize software applications (including HRIS database),
-  Ability to problem solve to analyze issues and create action plans,
-  Ability to interpret guidelines and utilize judgment for decision making,
-  Possession of exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships,
-  Ability to maintain confidentiality and be responsive to others in a wide variety of circumstances,
-  Skill in working with detailed information and adapting to changing priorities,
-  Possession of appropriate oral and written communication skills to successfully communicate with all stakeholders.
Job Functions:
-  Administers a wide variety of personnel policies and programs or the purpose of conforming to district policies, relevant laws, contracts, and agreements,
-  Communicates with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. district employees, administrators, applicants, and general public, etc.) to provide information and assistance concerning benefits, leaves, employment, recruitment, and /or personnel records,
-  Serves as benefits administrator, to include medical plan (The Local Choice statewide plan), flexible spending plan, short/long term disability, and other fringe benefit plans; coordinates all enrollments/changes, performs data entry and tracking, meets with employees and vendors, conducts annual Open Enrollment, processes all HIPAA and COBRA notifications, provides other legal and compliance notices,
-  Processes all Family Medical Leave requests, workers compensation claims, and disability claims; reports, tracks, and maintains files on claims,
-  Coordinates employment process (e.g. advertising, screening applications, attending/organizing job fairs, preparing interview questions, conducting reference checks, extending job offers and onboarding),
-  Collaborates with other Central Office staff  and school liaisons for the purpose of ensuring accuracy in information and providing excellent customer service,
- Develops a wide variety of written materials (e.g. forms, procedures, brochures, pamphlets, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information,
-  Maintains manual and electronic documents, files, records, and reports (e.g. HRIS database, vacancy listings, applicant tracking, personnel forms, employee files, benefits enrollments, leaves and absences, etc.),
-  Presents information on a variety of human resource topics (e.g. employment requirements, processes/procedures, general district benefits offered, etc.) to convey information and/or make recommendations regarding district services,
-  Researches information required to manage assignments (e.g. relevant policies; current practices, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs/services, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, securing general information for planning and/or responding to requests,
