Supervisory Team Leader
The University of Virginia seeks nominations and applications for an effective leader to fill the position of Supervisory Team Leader. The Supervisory Team Leader will provide supervision and procedural guidance and design direction to assigned project managers, architects, and engineers providing architectural engineering, planning, and construction services to ensure that the new and renovated facilities are well planned, designed, and constructed. This position oversees the day-to-day construction activities of complex projects, spanning from award of contract through construction and the one-year warranty period. Responsibilities of the Supervisory Team Leader will include: supporting the planning and construction of University facilities by developing architectural/engineering documents and cost estimates; monitoring and coordinating the planning process with State and University administration; negotiating and administering professional services and construction contracts; reviewing architectural/engineering documents for conformance with University objective of timely, economical, low maintenance, long life, energy conserving, state-of-the-art facilities; supervising and training team members by work assignment recommendations, work review, conducting training classes, and personal coaching.
The successful candidate will have deep technical knowledge, expertise, and skill in this field as well as excellent leadership, communication, planning, and project execution skills.

- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Building Construction is required. Masters degree in these fields preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in management of design, construction, and renovation of educational facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience and skills.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate architectural/engineering designs and systems for buildings and/or site development.
- Proven experience preparing and evaluating cost estimates.
- Strong presentation skills and exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effective.
