Summary:

Develop brand awareness through content marketing and secure industry press for all UCG content/ brand.

 

 

Essential Functions:

·      Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness and establish NADA UCG as a thought leader in the automotive industry.

·      Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person. 

·      Map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term. 

·      Lead and inspire cross-functional teams of creative personnel and content creators to achieve company's stated goals.

·      Identify key media outlets.

·      Develop compelling story angles.

·      Cultivate relationships with key business journalists in trade and national publications.

·      Pitch stories to trade, national and local media. Achieve highest visibility for print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets.

·      Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-lined articles.

·      Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities.

·      Proactively manage content, including editorial calendars and content planning.

·      Analyze and measure results of PR programs.

·      Manage budgets and campaign ROI.

 

 

Non-Essential Functions:

·      Assist with overall messaging and consistency on print and electronic collateral.

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree. 10+ years of relevant experience in public relations and communications.  Strong network of B2B, national business and automotive trade media/press contacts preferred.  Established relationships with general business, consumer and entertainment trade press/analyst/ blogger communities.  Proven successes in both traditional and interactive PR channels.  Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy.  A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both manage and execute programs.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Proven editorial skills. Outstanding command of the English language.  Proficiency with basic computer and PR applications including PRNewswire, Meltwater, CatchPole, Google Docs and News Alerts, MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)  Additional technology prowess given priority (WordPress, video-blogging).  Voracious reader of books, news and magazines.  Avid consumer/ enthusiast of cars/trucks.  Strong personal interest in automotive industry, business issues or public policy.
