Senior Accountant, Revenue Recognition

 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of Avendra accounting functions, with an emphasis on revenue recognition. The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Supervisor, Revenue Recognition. The position will be based at the headquarters office.

 

Responsibilities

·        Responsible for certain month and year-end closing procedures to ensure accuracy of Avendra financial statements; in particular, maintaining the Revenue Subledger.  Prepare and maintain related tracking schedules plus standard revenue financial reports.

·        Responsible for monthly revenue transactions in the GL and Revenue Subledger, including calculating estimates to accrue

·        Assist Accounting Supervisor, Revenue Recognition in revenue recognition and spend tracking initiatives, including variance explanations

·        Prepare asset and liability balance sheet reconciliations and rollforward schedules, to include recommending and preparing adjusting journal entries.

·        Interact with internal staff to resolve issues or identify potential adjustments, accruals and general variance explanations.

·        Prepare customer true-up reports for quarterly, bi-annual and annual distributions, including property variance explanations to Account Management staff.

·        Prepare other quarterly distributions to customers

·        Prepare periodic manual billings

·        Prepare schedules for annual financial audit and Founder AUP audit.

·        Assist with Pepsi-related calculations and invoicing, as well as, subsequent payment to Avendra customers.

·        Ad hoc revenue related analysis and reports

·        Prepare annual schedules and reconciliations for the G/L adjustment regarding Customer accruals vs true-up distribution variances.

·        Review contract terms and conditions to determine appropriate revenue recognition.

·        Assist with A/P vendor additions/updates in Navision.

·        Perform general ledger special projects, as requested.

·        Perform research and work on special projects, as requested.

 

Role Requirements

·        Experience with Microsoft Office

·        Experience with ERP financial software package

·        Strong written and oral communication, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills

·        Perform research and work on special projects, as requested

·        Well-organized

  

Years of Relevant Experience

·        Four to six years of progressive experience

 

Education Requirements

·        BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent, CPA track required

·        CPA strongly preferred
