The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) is an Independent Federal Agency responsible for administering the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). We help Federal employees and members of the Uniformed Services retire with dignity by providing benefits similar to private sector 401(k) plans.

The TSP manages over $400 billion for 4.6 million

participants. The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is widely

considered as one of the best retirement plans in the world and a model of efficiency.

The FRTIB seeks a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join its senior executive team. The CTO is responsible for the implementation and operation of all Agency and Thrift Savings Plan information technology services. The CTO advises the Chief Operating Officer on technology services and develops and implements strategies and tactics that improve the efficiency and performance of FRTIB technology systems, services, and business processes aligned with industry best practices and germane application of Government technology regulations, policies, and standards. In addition, this individual will be responsible for ensuring a robust information assurance program to manage risks related to use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data and the systems and processes used for those purposes. The CTO is responsible for directing an annual budget of over $100 million and manages a team of over 250 Federal employees and contract personnel. Our ideal candidate can rapidly adapt to changing conditions, is able to develop new insights into situations, questions conventional approaches, and encourages innovation.
