AMIDEAST, a leading American non-profit organization engaged in international education, training and development activities in the Middle East and North Africa, has an exciting opportunity for a Revenue Accounting Manager in its Washington, DC office. 

Position:                                              Accounting Manager – Revenue          

Department:                                         Finance/Accounting

Immediate Supervisor:                         Controller

Position Summary:   Working closely with the Controller and the Assistant Controller, this position will be primarily responsible for project maintenance, revenue recognition and A/R management. This is an excellent opportunity to step into an expanding international organization, and have a positive impact within the Accounting department.

Responsibilities:

    • Set up new projects and maintain existing projects in Costpoint

    • Ensure consistency and accuracy in revenue recognition methodologies

    • Ensure timely preparation of invoices and grant financial report

    • Reconcile Deferred Revenue and Accounts Receivables - billed & unbilled

    • Supervise the activities of the AR staff accountant

    • Reconcile AR sub-ledger to General Ledger

  • Initiate cash drawdowns from PMS (Payment Management System)

    • Document internal policies & procedures for Revenue recognition and AR Management

  • Provide training to staff and internal clients on various processes

  • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  2. Experience in Deltek Costpoint Projects Module required

  3. 5+ years of experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience required

  4. Demonstrated knowledge of non-profits GAAP and Federal Grant Rules & Regulations required

  5. Strong system and application skills (Microsoft Excel, report writers etc.) required

  6. Excellent inter-personal skills required

  7. Demonstrated analytical an problem solving skills
