The Biosciences Division is seeking an experienced Program Manager to manage DARPA and other DoD contracts and programs focused on research and development in the life sciences for either our Menlo Park, CA or Harrisonburg, VA locations. 

The successful candidate will work with principal investigators and staff from multiple research disciplines to establish functional project teams focused on achieving technical and financial goals and milestones.  Responsibilities will include working within the SRI organizational support infrastructure to manage research teams in identifying DoD business opportunities, proposal preparation and contract capture process, operational set-up and running of new contract wins, coordination of day to day operational program activities including supervision of meeting schedule and report preparation, and ensure focused and timely compliance to contract and program requirements.

 

Requirements:

The position requires a BS/MS in the life sciences or related field, with five to eight years of experience in DoD program management.  Experience in project management, systems engineering and programmatics, and a track record in managing large and complex contracts and programs including successful interaction with DoD/DARPA Program and Contract Officers. Experience in government business development, and / or working with other funding agencies such as NIH and NSF is a plus. Excellent and open communication skills are essential.
