We currently have a number of opportunities for Network Engineers with extensive DoD (8570) experience in Lexington Park, Maryland. MIL, as well as these opportunities, offer tremendous professional growth


Position Description:

Apply principals of network engineering to develop, design, implement and troubleshoot various local and wide area hardware platforms and architectures.  Analyze and troubleshoot network performance data in support of multiple sites distributed across wide area network.  Design and develop network topologies and architectures to include hardware and software identification. Identify potential network upgrades / modifications.  Implement network security and information assurance measures as required:

Lead the development of complex information technologies, including design, operational, and technical requirements, network engineering, and information assurance
Identify and develop system specifications, performance requirements, and interface or integration requirements. Serve as the primary author for major deliverables, including system requirements and specifications, system test plans, and test reports.    
Direct multiple system engineering tasks and provide guidance during all phases of implementation. Conduct research and testing on the latest state-of-the-art information technologies.
P rovide network performance reports in support customer’s event briefings and reviews. Work independently in a multi-tasking environment.

Experience Required:

  • Seven (7) years of specific network or systems engineering experience.

  • Design and/or integration of data communications network technologies, including VTC and VoIP

  • Using IP routing protocols, LAN switching technologies, in support of systems and network engineering

  • Network security countermeasures, including firewalls, access control lists, intrusion detection, and encryption devices

  • Desktop and server hardware setup and configuration (to include virtualization environment using VMware)

  • Developing & operating networks & system installation, configuration and maintenance support (Windows/Unix/Linux) and support IA implementations (controls, patches, updates, etc.)

  • Advance or complex network engineering or IT requirements (installation, configuration, maintenance, etc.) within classified networks. Works independently, and as an integral part of a team, in researching and evaluating data, and developing analytical techniques and methodologies.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to carry 50 lbs.

  • Ability to support Mission critical systems located in multiple facilities during extended flight and ground testing.

  • Ability to travel periodically.

  • Obtain and maintain DoD 8570 compliance.

  • Good communications skills, can work with vendors and tech support and clearly articulate issues, concerns, and problems.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

  • Platform IT/Systems Integration experience

  • Training and/or Certifications on Microsoft products: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Office 2010, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, 2008, etc.

  • Familiar with Cisco, Brocade and Juniper LAN/WAN switches and routers.

  • TACLANE experience is a plus
