SUMMARY:  This position will plan and estimate safe and cost effective projects for commercial and industrial projects using detailed knowledge of past efforts, day to day problems and opportunities, and of how things are actually done in the field.  This includes implementing ideas that make the job easier, improves performance, and enhances the customer’s experience. This position reports to the Business Development Director.

CLASSIFICATION:             NON-EXEMPT

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Responsible for researching bids to identify work suited to CFSI

  • Develops relationships with vendors to obtain best price, best value transactions

  • Prepares accurate estimates

  • Responds to emergency deficiencies provided by the technician and provides timely estimates to solve the deficiency.

  • Develops cost information for specific project types

  • Provides other services such as change order pricing

  • Assesses cost effectiveness of projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as project develops.

  • Sets up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures

  • Reviews material and labor requirements to decide most cost effective methods

  • Conducts site reviews as needed

  • Responsible for initiating meeting and coordination of start-ups to transfer sold work to operations.

  • Other duties as required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience

  • Minimum journeyman level

  • Project Management experience a plus

  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge, and experience, preferably with Microsoft Office software.

 SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

  • Technical aptitude, communication skills, and work well with others
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods when required.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
  • Well-developed budgeting, purchasing, and organizational skills.
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
