Mental Health/Addictions Counselor
Cornerstone Montgomery Inc., is a non-profit, Community Mental Health Agency which is located in Montgomery Country, Maryland. Providing Comprehensive Recovery-Based Mental Health services since 1971.
Our Integrated Dual-Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) Program is looking for a Full Time Mental Health/Addictions Counselor, to support individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and a co-occurring substance abuse disorders. If selected to work in this unique, nationally recognized program, you will be given the following responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group supportive counseling, as well as task and ADL's life skills training;
Provide Assertive Outreach Case Management Services, meeting with clients in the client's community, and in our Residential Group Homes. Hold weekly house meetings with our residential clients and complete all documentation through central records; Evaluate client needs, assessing strengths and areas of need to write individualized recovery plans, Align with all service providers who are engaged in the clients' recovery goals and treatment; Support medication management, Provide services for as long as is need.
To qualify for this position, you need to have a Bachelor's degree, with a major in social work, psychology or a related field, or an Associate of Arts degree in mental health with two full time additional years of relevant work experience. You must have full access to a vehicle, with no more than 2 negative points on your driving record and the ability to pass a criminal background check.You must also be willing to meet with clients in their own homes and willing to transport clients to community resources and appointments if deemed beneficial by the treatment team.
