We have an immediate opening for a Full Time Operations Officer position at our Department of Energy, Washington, DC office location.

General Duties: 

Under limited supervision, the incumbent approves, pends or declines loan applications within delegated authority while adhering to Federal regulations and PFCU standards, policies and procedures. In addition, the incumbent provides the necessary supervision and guidance to assigned staff to ensure high quality member service. 

Essential Duties:
Oversees the daily activities of assigned staff and provides input to performance appraisals.

Analyzes departmental operations and procedures and recommends updates and changes.

Develops form letters and assists in the formatting and completion of more complex letters.

Reviews and evaluates loan applications and approves, pends or declines member's loan requests; refers loans outside their authority level to a senior lender with recommendations and justifications, when necessary..

Reviews and evaluates questions and correspondence from loan applicants regarding pending or approved loans and takes appropriate action.

Contacts other institutions, as needed, to obtain information necessary to evaluate member loan requests.

Counsels members and potential members regarding all types of PFCU loan and share products, policies and procedures and resolves more complex member problems, making exceptions to policy when necessary. Policy exceptions must be within designated authority.

Maintains a current knowledge of PFCU loan and share products and promotes these products to eligible members and potential members.

Prepares loan applications to be disbursed.

Participates in quality reviews.

Provides guidance and training to staff; insures that new products and procedures are communicated to staff in a timely manner.
Informs Manager or Assistant Manager of issues relating to staff and operations, and recommends changes as necessary.

May act as an Assistant Treasurer within delegated authority.

Maintains necessary production reports.

Performs the duties of other department staff as required. Provides support to other branches or departments as needed.

Performs duties of a Mortgage Consultant as required.

Responsible for coaching and assisting all staff to meet sales and productivity goals.

Assumes role of Assistant Manager when required.

Assists Information Technology Department with testing new systems.

Job Requirements: 

Associates degree in related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.

One year work experience in management or lending operations required.

Strong oral communication skills required.
