Duties

• You will operate large, complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment.
• You will determine and select the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish each phase of the work in the most productive and cost-effective manner.
• You will complete all aspects of special assignments involving several steps, phases or detailed procedures.
• You will utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Additional information

The primary purpose of this position: To perform heavy laboring tasks which require significant manual skill and very heavy physical effort operating equipment that includes characteristics such as single-function performance and components that are independently controlled through various hydraulic and/or mechanical devices such as large, complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
