Responsibilities & Qualifications

As a Data Scientist at TekSynap, you will be responsible for working with senior developers and data scientists on development and implementation of advanced data analytics and machine learning solutions. You will work closely within a scrum team and with cross-functional teams in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)-based program to extract actionable insights from data, develop predictive models, and contribute to our data-driven strategy. The ideal candidate will be a data enthusiast with a strong background in statistics, machine learning, and data engineering.

Data Scientists develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance products, processes, and systems. They conduct data mining and retrieval, and apply statistical and mathematical analyses to identify trends, solve analytical problems, optimize performance, and gather intelligence. They visualize information using a range of tools (e.g., GIS, R), develop scripts and algorithms, create explanatory and predictive models, and conduct comparative analyses to address complex problems.

Specific responsibilities may include:

• Data Analysis: Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within complex data sets.
• Model Development: Develop and deploy predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical techniques to address business problems and generate actionable insights.
• Feature Engineering: Create, transform, and engineer features from various data sources to improve model performance.
• Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data availability, quality, and integrity for analytical and modeling tasks.
• Hypothesis Testing: Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and assess the impact of data-driven initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as product development, marketing, and operations, to understand their data needs and provide data-driven solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a programming language such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• BA/BS with 2+ years'; MS with 0+ years'; HS Diploma with 8+ years' experience
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
• Knowledge and/or experience with data preprocessing, data cleaning, and feature engineering.
• Knowledge and/or experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex findings and results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
