Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Project Accountant in our Finance Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an experienced Project Accountant, you will:
Community Benefit Reporting:
•Responsible for the compilation of the Community Benefit financial reporting for AHC's hospitals to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Maryland's Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC).
•Responsible for communicating with several internal personnel to ensure accurate data collection.
•Communicate frequently with the Population Health department to discuss deadlines and collection of data from hospital personnel and coordinate timing for completion and deadlines.
•Responsible for creating supporting workpapers and documenting data variances from prior years.
•Review the annual HSCRC Community Benefit guidelines and stay abreast of any new requirements.
•Be proficient with extracting data and running reports in Workday and extracting data from the Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA) software.
•Prepare and present the Community Benefit financial data to hospital leaders. Follow up on comments and questions to prepare the final analysis and financial reporting component of the Community Benefit Report.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:
•Communicates with internal departments to collect data for various state and federal tax returns.
•Performs tax calculations and enters data into the CCH Axcess tax software.
•Assist in the preparation of Maryland annual tax reports and personal property tax returns.
•Provides support and assists in the preparation of the annual Federal Form 990 tax returns.
•Assists with other monthly and annual tax projects and analysis as necessary.

Financial Reporting:
•Assists with monthly and quarterly financial statement closes and related internal and external reporting packages.
•Provides support during the annual audit process including various audit deliverables and preparation of various footnotes from the annual audited financial statements.
•Assists with other Financial Reporting projects as needed.

Qualifications include:
•This is a hybrid position that includes in office and remote work.
•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field.
•Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•4 years of experience in accounting. Experience in a multi-entity health system considered a plus. Previous experience with Community Benefit Reporting and Federal Form 990 tax returns also considered a plus.
•Experience with Workday, CCH Axcess tax software and Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA) software also considered a plus.
•Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
•Ability to meet internal and external deadlines.
•Be part of a high functioning team and can understand the big picture and focus on the details.
•Organized and possesses project management skills and a proactive work style.
•Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficient in mathematical and analytical skills to be able to identify issues and propose viable solutions.
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
•Strong stewardship of confidential data.

Work Schedule:

Schedule: M-Th 9-5pm Friday 9-3pm. Hybrid after the 90 day probationary period
