About the Position:

The George Mason University, School of Business invites applications for Executive Director, Center for Real Estate Entrepreneurship (CREE) and MS in Real Estate Development Program (MRED). The Executive Director is a strategic leader who is responsible for all aspects of the center's activities including operations, design and delivery of programs, new initiatives, research, communications, and fundraising to build real estate industry relationships and raise the presence and reputation of CREE as a platform for real estate education and forum for real estate issues. As concurrent Director of the MRED program, the Executive Director will be responsible for the program's strategic planning, growth, and quality of the students' academic experience. The Executive Director will lead expansion with other real estate programs at the School of Business, including the new undergraduate Minor in Real Estate Development program. The position is a full-time administrative faculty position with full benefits. Additionally, this position is funded from external CREE funding and the position is expressly contingent upon the continuation of external CREE funding.

Responsibilites:

The Executive Director is a strategic leader who is responsible for all aspects of the center's activities including operations, design and delivery of programs, new initiatives, research, communications, and fundraising to build real estate industry relationships and raise the presence and reputation of CREE as a platform for real estate education and forum for real estate issues. As concurrent Director of the MRED program, the Executive Director will be responsible for the program's strategic planning, growth, and quality of the students' academic experience. The Executive Director will lead expansion with other real estate programs at the School of Business, including the new undergraduate Minor in Real Estate Development program.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field or combination of education and experience that equates to the advanced degree;
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial real estate and large-scale residential projects, development, and/or management;
  • Knowledge of and experience in the DC-metro area real estate industry, relevant organizations, and firms;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience and a successful track record of building positive relationships with real estate professionals and the business community;
  • Experience managing a budget and procuring goods and services; and
  • Events management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated real estate industry leadership and experience.
