About the Department:
The Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music's mission is to enable every student to find his or her best musical voice; prepare each to fulfill society's need for artistic and innovative musicians, scholars, music educators, and ambassadors for the arts; and graduate each with hope, confidence, and distinction.
About the Position:
The adjunct applied Musical Theater Voice professor will teach individualized lessons, starting January 2024. The position will report to both the Dewberry School of Music and the School of Theater Directors.
Responsibilities:
Teach Applied Musical Theater Voice; Provide leadership to Mason's Musical Theater Voice Studio to include coordination of studio classes as well as on-campus and off-campus performances and events; Coordinate recruitment for the Musical Theater Voice Studio; Adjudicate Musical Theater Voice Juries; and Participate in Musical Theater initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience;
- Demonstrated experience working with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; and
- Established reputation as a professional artist with a documented portfolio of live performances.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful experience teaching at the college level;
- Successful experience teaching vocal techniques for musical theater styles;
- Piano skills sufficient for accompanying voice students in lessons; and
- Experience teaching students to build technical proficiency and repertoire across the genre.
