Overview
AARP Foundation works to end senior poverty by helping vulnerable people over 50 build economic opportunity. Our approach emphasizes equitable outcomes for populations that have faced systemic discrimination. As AARP's charitable affiliate, we serve AARP members and nonmembers alike. Through vigorous legal advocacy and evidence-based solutions, and by building supportive community connections, we foster resilience, advance equity and restore hope.
The Program Manager, Workforce Solutions will discover, develop, and deliver new and enhanced workforce solutions, programs, and partnerships that will increase economic security and mobility for low-income 50+ workers and for employers, build a highly skilled and multigenerational workforce. Will help in the development of building strategic partnerships, particularly focused on employers, business and industry associations, and workforce intermediaries. Provides daily operational and strategic support for the Workforce Programs' expansion working with Vice President, Workforce Programs. Collaborates with Workforce Programs and AARP Foundation colleagues (including Development, Communications, Technology, Litigation, and Innovation) to identify and integrate solutions to the biggest challenges facing the low-income 50+ and their families as it relates to employment and income generation.

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Responsibilities
- Develops and implements solutions
- Executes and evaluates existing programs to identify improvements and to measure outcomes
- Collaborates with program leadership in the development of long-term goals and strategic plans to ensure continued successful growth and scalability
- Uses existing data to identify program enhancements and identifies needed data and research to maximize insight and experience management
- Managing enterprise assets and budgets
- Project and process management
- Partner and stakeholder engagement (including volunteers, participants and program partners)
- Reporting on program activities/outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience is required
- 5+ years' experience in employment and/or education, workforce development, social enterprise entrepreneurship, human resources, economic development, or industry engagement strongly preferred
- Evidence of building new programs, initiatives, and solutions preferred
- Ability to exercise sound business judgment, a familiarity with a wide variety of business models both in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and the ability to see the potential application of these models in the context of social innovation
- Demonstrated ability to support a complex array of projects, operational and strategic goals, and relationships with internal and external partners
- Familiarity with design thinking methodology and both quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to include collecting, analyzing, and tracking performance data and reporting on results, particularly related to economic and workforce development
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines, working on multiple concurrent programs requiring gathering, design, and project planning/management.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills, team player, with an entrepreneurial mindset
