- Utilizes evidence based practices, and culturally sensitive models to develop care plans. Incumbent will utilize the theories and therapeutic modalities, evidenced based practices and culturally sensitive models to develop plans with individual/family/group and other special populations such as the physically/mentally challenged and blended families.
- Provide short-term follow up , possible long term counseling and case management for patients and families via telehealth.
- Utilizes established standards in assessment, safety planning, treatment, and follow up. The incumbent uses the SOAP format, and documents treatment plans. Documentation will follow the required standards of behavioral health policies and entities such as Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation on Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Incumbent utilizes Electronic Health Record to document.
- Provides independent professional decisions and recommendations for patient's continuity in care by providing structured placements for acute and chronic patients in psychiatric facilities, transitional residency, group and/or other secure units

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.
