This position has a selective placement factor. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in BUMED INSTRUCTION:1. Doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Ph.D., Psy.D.) from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school. 2. A 1 year APA-accredited clinical internship. AND 3. A current State license in clinical psychology from a U.S. State, territory, or district. Note: Your resume must support your answer and you must submit appropriate documents for verification.
GS-13: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Provides psychotherapy for clients presenting with trauma and sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse; 2) Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments to assess coping abilities and compliance of clients; 3) Develops treatment plans targeting at-risk and substantiated victims of trauma and sexual, physical, and emotional abuse; and 4) Provides in-service training on Sexual Assault Prevention programming to targeted audiences.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work requires the ability to listen well and pay attention for long periods of time. The work requires frequent documentation using electronic health records. The clinic is located on a second floor without elevator access. The work may involve sitting for long periods of time. It is important that the incumbent is able to hear well and speak clearly to understand and be understood by others. The work requires emotional stability and maturity in the face of crises.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, residences, or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
A forty-hour work week is typical of this position.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

- You will provide ethically sound, evidence-based outpatient counseling in the field of mental health within a military academy setting. The primary client population to be served are 18- to 26-year-olds who are survivors of trauma.
- You will be a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary staff that supports the development and well-being of a military academy community through individual counseling, collaboration, and outreach.
- You will assess client counseling needs and develop treatment plans.
- You will provide individual counseling and maintain client records in compliance with organizational and professional counseling requirements.
- You will work collaboratively with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) program to evaluate and ensure appropriate victim assistance.
- You will provide outreach presentations to a military service academy community focused on trauma recovery.
