DUTIES:  This is a contract position responsible for overseeing construction and renovation projects and assignments within the Department of Community Services, which provides recreation and park related services to the Bowie community. The responsibilities of this role encompass the entire project management lifecycle, from project conception to completion, including budgeting and architectural engineering. The Project Manager will regularly collaborate with various City departments, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants. Additionally, the role may involve public outreach, communication, and public presentations as required.

Sample projects that the Project Manager may handle include commercial HVAC replacements, roof replacements, playground installations/replacements, generator installations/replacements, restroom renovations, large and small park improvements, office renovations, flooring replacement, security projects, fencing installations, park master plans, energy efficiency projects, and new municipal buildings and facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Valid driver’s license
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or closely related field.
• Certain combinations of experience or training may be considered in lieu of the above listed qualifications.

Preferred QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Two years of professional experience managing construction or renovation..

SALARY:  $38.00 - $45.00 Hourly (depending on Qualifications)
