Job Details
Oversees, tracks, and monitors day-to-day facility operations for the department. Performs professional level work to coordinate facility management and space planning functions. Conducts, monitors, and evaluates DFS’s facility processes, procedures, contracts, and services. Coordinates facility related ADA Reasonable Accommodation requests. Designs, implements, monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems that guide facility workflows and requests and tracks status of actions taken. Oversees and manages inventory of DFS storage spaces. Coordinates furniture purchases, deliveries, and installations with vendors. Engages with relevant partners, property management companies, vendors, and internal stakeholders on facility management and security issues. Recommends changes and process improvements based on facility use, data analysis, and best practices. Participates in planning and implementation of continuity of operations and emergency preparedness, as well as safety and security activities. Contributes facility management expertise to procedures and best practices for emergency plans, trainings, exercises, and operational strategies. Interacts with senior-level staff from DFS and other county departments. Routinely travels to DFS locations throughout the County. Works u nder the supervision of the Facilities Operations Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area; plus two years of professional work experience within the functional area.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a driving record check and a Child Protective Services Registry check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four or more years of experience in facilities or building operations management including working knowledge of HVAC, security, plumbing, elevators, and electrical systems.
- Experience with interpreting Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies, procedures, and principles related to facility operations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to create basic space layouts using various software applications.
- Experience prioritizing or organizing facility related requests and work orders.
- Ability to track and maintain large amounts of data in Excel.
- General knowledge of building emergency operations such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, severe weather incidents.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks and requests simultaneously.
- Excellent professional communication skills and customer service a must.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally active in nature; incumbent must be sufficiently mobile and frequently move about to perform essential job duties; may be required to move items up to 25 pounds in weight. Ability to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, climb, sit, kneel, crouch, reach, crawl, lift and handle materials with manual dexterity. Ability to read information on a computer monitor; effectively communicate; operate keyboard-driven equipment and computer. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license. All duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
